Local diving spots

Here is an overview of the most beautiful local diving spots:
  • Shanes Riff: 12 – 18 Meter

    Very popular spot, also suitable for underwater photography. Here you can see turtles, seahorses, leaf fish, frogfish, the rare scorpion fish, colorful nudibranchs, scorpion fish and box fish.

  • Riff people: 12 - 16 Meters

    Also very suitable for beginners. Known for good visibility and a beautiful colorful coral landscape. You can also see zachkenbarsche, groups of snappers, scorpion fish and crocodile fish, among the many reef fish.

  • Nankville and Pembe Reef: 15 meters

    Nankville and Pembe: lies at a depth of about 15 meters and is a huge coral block. You can also find lobsters, barracudas, rays and groupers here.

  • Nungwi Riff: 6 – 12 Meter

    Special night dives are carried out there. The entry is from the beach.

  • Chakatuni: 12 - 18 Meters

    Very nice coral plateau, also suitable for beginners. You can also see rays and turtles.

  • Coral Garden: 8 – 15 Meter

    Lots of colorful small and large reef fish

  • Mbwangawa - House of the Turtles: 8-18 meters

    Turtles are at home here, which can often be observed very well and is always a special highlight. There are also a lot of hard corals and colorful soft corals. At the bottom of the sandy bottom you can also find stingrays and blue spotted rays again and again. There are also many colorful tropical fish.

  • Haji and Kichafi: 12-18 meters

    Lots of hard and soft corals, wide sandy areas between the reefs, where you can see many tube eels on the bottom.

  • Life Bank: 14 - 40 Meters

    Only for experienced divers, often also currents.

  • Leon`s Wall: steep wall on the outer reef up to 40 meters

    There are many small caves there that serve as hiding places and shelter for marine animals.

  • Tumbatu Island: Shetani und Pandu 3 - 12 Meter

    Most beautiful coral garden in Zanzibar, with spectacular soft and hard corals.

  • Mnemba Island

    It is the most famous nature reserve of Zanzibar. The reef extends over a length of about seven by five kilometers.

  • Mnemba - Kichuani: 5 - 35 Meter

    Starts flat, therefore also very suitable for snorkelers, then drops steeply.

  • Mnemba – Wattabomie: 10 -30 Meter

    Wonderful coral blocks with sandy bottoms in between, where you can see numerous tube eels on the ground, lots of colorful, species-rich fish, turtles and, with a lot of luck, white tip sharks.

  • Mnemba – Big Wall: 15 – 40 Meter

    Steep wall on the outer reef, only for experienced divers!
